The Daniela Conte Foundation will be having its 5th Annual Blood Drive hosted by the New York Blood Center on Saturday, March 1st, 2025 at St. Matthew’s Church in Dix Hills.
Daniela was an 8-year-girl from Long Island who passed away in 2020, after a four-year battle with rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare type of pediatric cancer. During her treatments, she received several blood transfusions. According to the New York Blood Center, cancer patients are the No. 1 recipients of blood products. Our local children’s hospital alone requires nearly 300 units of red blood cells and more than 100 units of platelets each month.
