Now that the crisp air of fall has officially hit our island, here’s a list of things you have to do this season!
1. Pick a pumpkin!
Whether you are going down Sound Avenue or even your local grocery store, it’s SO fun to pick the perfect pumpkin. It’s also great to carve pumpkins with friends.
2. Eat roasted corn!
Roasted corn is a MUST DO! Tons of local farm stands out East will have roasted corn. I personally love having roasted corn at Harbes family farm in Mattituck and pairing it with freshly squeezed lemonade.
3. Apple picking
Apple picking and autumn go together like peanut butter and jelly! I love going apple picking at Lewin Farms in Wading River!
4. Drink apple cider
If you love a good apple cider, one of my favorite places to check out is the Jericho Cider Mill! If you’re over 21, you can totally get an apple cider at Riverhead Ciderhouse!
5. Visit a haunted house
Whether you’re looking to visit Bayville for it’s Bayville Scream Park or Gateway Haunted Playhouse, they’re a ton of places to get into the spooky vibes of fall!
6. Eat a yummy seasonal pie
Pumpkin or apple...which is the superior flavor of fall? Either way, it’s the best time to indulge in those yummy seasonal flavors. I’m a sucker for visiting Briermere farms.
7. Shopping at local farms
The best way to keep it local, is shopping local! I visited Patty’s Berries & Bunches to go berry picking and bought stunning flowers grown right here on Long Island.
8. Watch football/ hockey
Homecoming season for high school sports are coming up! You can totally go to your local district and sit in the stands, or you can watch football or hockey on TV. Lets go Islanders!
9. Having a bonfire
Getting together with family and friends and sitting by the fire is a great fall activity! It’s so cozy and wholesome! I love having some s’mores!
10. Indulge in a festive beverage!
If you love a pumpkin spice latte or a hot apple cider, definitely get in the festive mood with a yummy beverage! A great spot to visit that’ll be perfect for spooky season is Witches Brew!
