Thought Kendrick Lamar was a smidge underwhelming? Same. As much as I like the addition of SZA, I felt like the performance didn’t have the level of fun and excitement. I’m looking for fun, memorable, plus artists/ groups that have a good span of music that appeal to the masses. Without further ado, here are my top 5 performers I’d love to see take the biggest stage in the future.
1. Miley Cyrus
We’ll get the limo out front for THIS! Miley’s music spans beyond her Hannah Montana discography, and I’d love to see Miley on the field to perform her own version of “The Eras Tour.” Imagine “Party In The USA” into “Wrecking Ball”...that’d be EVERYTHING! She put on a killer performance last year at the Grammys, I’m sure she’d crush a performance at the halftime show.
2. Fall Out Boy
I’d love to see a rock group in the spotlight. Fall Out Boy would be a GREAT group to do it! They’re so fun, energetic, and have incredible stage presence. They’ve been making music since the early 2000s. 20 years of music in the 15 minute performance? That’d be amazing!
3. Nicki Minaj
I’m surprised that Nicki Minaj has yet to take the stage in a halftime performance. She’s just a FUN time! “Super Bass,” “Barbie World,” and “Starships” are songs that would get anyone out of their seats and dancing. I’d be a fan of this!
4. Blink 182
Surprisingly enough, Blink 182 has never performed a halftime show. This would be an incredible rock group to perform. They reach a mass appeal, they’re fun, and they have songs that everyone will know!
5. Harry Styles
I know that artists don’t technically get paid to perform the halftime show, but I feel like Harry wouldn’t care! His music is infectious, he’s got an incredible stage presence, and it’d be so different from artists we’ve had the past few years (Rihanna, Usher, Kendrick.) I’d be here for this!
An additional performer I’d love to see perform in the future is Shakira by herself! I know she performed with JLo a few years back, but I’d love to see her perform! Shakira’s discography is so versatile, I’d be so excited for that! Her hits (and hips) don’t lie!
Who do you want to perform next year? Let us know in the comments!
