July 16, 2004 was the premiere of ‘A Cinderella Story’ starring Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray! Was the movie a bit cheesy? Of course...as most 2000s movies were (but I was so here for it). Did we still swoon over Chad Michael Murray? Yes! Here are some of the most iconic moments in the movie.

  • “Diner girl” Sam Montgomery sticking it to Shelby Cummings

After dealing with the drama with Shelby and her clique, this interaction between the two of them is truly hilarious!

  • Austin Ames (Chad Michael Murray) and Sam Montgomery (Hilary Duff) slow dancing.

This gazebo slow dance between virtual pen pals was so romantic! I still don’t understand how Austin was clueless as to who Sam was! Their constant run-ins were a sign the universe wanted them together.

  • Sam (Hilary Duff) standing up to her stepmom (Jennifer Coolidge).

One of the MOST iconic lines in the movie “Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game” lives rent free in my head! This take down was incredible!

  • Sam (Hilary Duff) telling off Austin (Chad Michael Murray) in the locker room

Iconic line after iconic line...Hilary Duff really gave it her all in this movie! “Waiting for you is like waiting for rain in this drought. Useless and disappointing.”

  • The monumental kiss in the rain!

“No dad, I’m living out your dream” and stealing a kiss from his girl? We were ALL swooning over this kiss! How could you not? It’s so romantic!
