Mind the gap! Governor Hochul announced a plan that will connect the LIRR Ronkonkoma train station to MacArthur Airport.

The announcement, on Wednesday, shared that the infrastructure project will receive $150 million in funding. According to News 12, Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine will be committing $50 million. The project would include road and parking improvements and a pedestrian walkway between the airport and train station.

No word yet as to when the project will start or end. This will certainly make traveling by plane and train easier for Long Islanders, especially with the addition of a new non-stop flight from MacArthur Airport and JetBlue’s daily flights from New York to Fort Lauderdale being added in April.
