A new Dr. Seuss book is on the way in time for America’s 250th birthday. It’s technically not “new”. A complete manuscript was found in his archives in San Diego, along with a cover sketch and art direction.

It’s called “Sing the 50 United States!”, and will teach kids the names of each state with the help of the Cat in the Hat.

The CEO of Dr. Seuss Enterprises says, quote, “Uncovering a new work from Ted is like finding a time capsule of his imagination. ‘Sing the 50 United States!’ celebrates his boundless creativity, genius with words . . .

“And enduring ability to inspire young readers everywhere. We’re honored to share this new Dr. Seuss treasure with readers across America during such a meaningful milestone year.”

It comes out June 2nd, 2026, and is already available for preorder wherever books are sold.

This isn’t Dr. Seuss’ first posthumous release. His most recent was “What Pet Should I Get” back in 2015.

(Theodor Seuss Geisel passed away September 24th, 1991.)
