Long Island MacArthur Airport unveils new airline with flights to North Carolina and Florida

Long Island MacArthur Airport is adding a NEW airline to their roster.

According to News 12 Long Island, Avelo Air is joining the Long Island airport offering flights to North Carolina and Florida. The specific stops include: Charlotte, NC, Wilmington, NC, and Lakeland, FL..

According to Avelo Air, flights start to Concord-Padgett Regional Airport May 22. Flights to Coastal Carolina’s Wilmington International Airport June 12, and to Central Florida’s Lakeland International Airport June 12.

Additional changes have been announced to the airport including additional daily flights to Florida via. JetBlue and a new stop added from Long Island to Boston.

The biggest change is the announcement by Governor Hochul that a connector will be made to make travel from the LIRR Ronkonkma station to MacArthur easier.
