The brush fires that started on the East end of Long Island over the weekend continue to be investigated by officials. According to News 12 Long Island, officials are pointing to a person making s’mores in the backyard as a possible cause of the fire.

The wildfires spread rapidly over from the pine barrens across the South shore of Long Island due to the dry air and 40+ MPH winds.

The fires are now 100% contained. Thankful for all the firefighters, police, and first responders who stepped in.
